Jenniqual "Jai" Johnson, (she/her) is a mom, wife, sister, soror, and Slytherin house member. She currently works as an Urban Connections Program Specialist with the US Forest Service. She previously managed the Decennial Census Partnership program for Northern Illinois and was the Integrated Voter Engagement organizer at Metropolitan Congregations United in St. Louis, MO. She has extensive practical experience as an organizer, community engagement and partnership specialist, records management officer, human resources officer, community chaplain, grief companion, and death doula. She is a graduate of Eden Theological Seminary, receiving a master of Arts in Professional Studies in spring 2023. She also holds a Master in Human Resource Management from Webster University, a bachelor’s in business administration from Harris-Stowe State University, an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from L'Ecole Culinaire. Jai is currently a Doctorate candidate of Ministry in Urban Chaplaincy.

Jai is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., inducted into the Zeta Rho chapter at HSSU in Spring 2015. In her most recent chapter, she served as the technical website chair, providing tech facilitation during chapter meetings and events, as well as supporting technical facilitation for state and regional conferences, trainings, and events. She has created multiple training modules designed to educate and train sorors on hosting effective meetings, building effective teams, records management, and all things Google Drive.

The work MCU continues to organize in the Greater St. Louis area is important to Jai, owing her time as an organizer to her current paths in both community engagement and chaplaincy. Currently serving as MCU’s board secretary, Jai is active in the community, also working as a community chaplain at TheT, BRIC, and Power4STL. She also volunteers with Potbangerz, is executive board secretary for Faith for Justice, and executive board member for the Trans Housing Initiative STL. Jai enjoys a good statement t-shirt, reading, playing kickball, cooking for family, and traveling whenever her calendar tells her she has a free moment.

MCU puts faith into action by developing leaders who move their congregations, organizations and communities to change public policy for the common good.
